In April 2023, around 1.9 million people were assisted with emergency food assistance, out of which around 1.3 million people were reached through cash modality and 582 thousand people reached with in-kind modality; and 122 thousand people reached with agricultural livelihoods support, out of which 36 thousand people were reached through cash modality and 85 thousand people reached with in-kind modality in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) states by Partners.

Food Security Sector (FSS) is advocating for more resources and calling upon partners to put in more resources the peak of the lean season.  There is an opportunity to improve self-reliance by scaling up agricultural livelihood activities.
