In January 2024, the food security sector assisted around 1.4 million people with food assistance and around 10 thousand people with agriculture and livelihoods, of which 86 percent (1,213,334) and 13 percent (1,336) respectively received support, through cash voucher assistance (CVA). A total of 18 organizations, national, and international non-governmental organizations, and UN agencies used various delivery mechanisms such as cash payments, mobile money transfers, paper vouchers, and electronic vouchers. Borno State 81 percent of the CVA beneficiaries, with Yobe State hosting 18 percent and Adamawa State having 1 percent.
