During June 2021, Sector partners assisted about 2 million individuals with food assistance (through in-kind or CVA) in the three most affected North-East states of Nigeria. The largest gap identified remains in Borno State, followed by Yobe State, and Borno State. The Sector Partners are coordinating on the scale-up plan given the increased needs.
The Food Security Sector continues to advocate for both government and non-government partners to scale up to cover the food gaps during the peak of the lean season.
