Food Security Sector: Response Dashboard, March 2024

According to the March 2024 Cadre Harmonisé analysis, approximately 4.8 million people in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states are projected to be food insecure during the 2024 lean season, with about 450,000 people in Phase 4 (Emergency). This indicates that the number of food-insecure people in these states has consistently remained above 4 million since 2020.

In March 2024, 1 million people received emergency food assistance, with around 961,000 reached through the cash modality and 61,000 through the in-kind modality. Additionally, about 354,000 people received agricultural livelihood support, with 3,000 reached through cash modality and 351,000 through in-kind modality in the BAY states.

Given the high level of need, the Food Security Sector, in collaboration with partners and other sectors, has initiated planning for the lean and rainy season.
