FOOD SECURITY SECTOR DASHBOARD - DECEMBER 2019

During December 2019, a total of 2.7 million people were supported with food security interventions in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, 1.4 million of which were supported with emergency food assistance, and 1.8 million were with agriculture and livelihood support. Among them, more than 448,000 individuals received both forms of assistance. The security situation along the main supply routes and remote countryside areas are major challenges to the implementation of ongoing FSL activities in Borno State. Given the recent interaction between the military and humanitarians, which created uncertainties around the use of cash/voucher modality for food assistance, the sector continues sensitizing partners to ensuring their vendors are aware of the complexities and risks of operating in a highly militarized environment and performing adequate due diligence in the selection of vendors and transporters.
