Food Security Sector, Agricultural Livelihood (SO2) Gap Analysis – October 2023

Since 2020, the assistance going towards agricultural livelihoods has consistently reduced year on year, despite the increased opportunities and demand for livelihood support by the affected population. over the past 4 years.

In October 2023, the sector partners assisted 399 thousand of people with agricultural livelihood interventions in the BAY states out of the 3.7M targeted people. The most significant gap identified remains in Adamawa State (95 percent) and Yobe States (93 percent), followed Borno State (83 percent). The gap in agriculture livelihood support is about 3.5 million people. This implies there is a significant agricultural livelihoods gaps in BAY states.
