During February 2021, the sector partners have assisted around 329,006 individuals with Agricultural Livelihoods Interventions in the three most affected North-East states. Targeting and registration of potential beneficiaries for the 2021 rainy season farming support are ongoing across BAY states. The sector is facilitating the coordination of agriculture inputs planning to avoid overcrowding and ensuring the suitable areas with relative access to land are prioritized.

The Sector carried out a rapid assessment to understand challenges faced by food security actors in procurement and distribution of fertilizer in preparation for the rain season farming. The Sector with the support of relevant actors and stakeholders will facilitate a discussion to mitigate the identified challenges and further clarify on the process of procurement and clearance.
