Food Security Sector Cash Dashboard - May 2022

In May 2022, the Food Security Sector assisted 1,171,025 people with food assistance (SO1) and 351,147 people for agriculture livelihoods support (SO2), of whom 70% (817,897) and 2% (8,119) received support through Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) for SO1 and SO2 respectively. Eighteen organizations, including national and international NGOs and UN agencies, used different delivery mechanisms, such as cash in hand, mobile money transfers, paper vouchers, and electronic vouchers. Among the BAY states, Borno state hosts the highest caseload, approximately 89% of the beneficiaries supported through CVA, as compared to 10% and 1% in Yobe and Adamawa states, respectively.

Partners implementing emergency food assistance through CVA continue including the provision of additional 2,000 Naira to beneficiaries for safe access to fuel and energy as part of the food basket.
