Cluster partners reported reaching 108,000 beneficiaries in both rural and urban areas with cash-based and in-kind food assistance in July 2022. Among them, 55, 821 beneficiaries received cash assistance in urban and peri-urban areas. The remaining 23,270 received in-kind food assistance in rural areas.

Support to address vulnerable populations continued in July with a major focus on urban resilience programming. Cash-based assistance remains the predominant modality, which is consistent with the current response, with  78% of the support being delivered through cash-based support. Only 22% of beneficiaries, in rural areas, received in-kind food assistance. The number of population receiving assistance remains relatively constant since the end of last lean season.

Concurrently, a total of 100,048 beneficiaries were supported with agricultural and livelihood assistance. This includes providing training, extension, and advisory services to extension officers and farmers focusing on good agriculture practices with an emphasis on climate-smart agriculture as well as training on and inputs for agro-ecology interventions such as soil conservation practices, soil reclamation techniques, and restoration of degraded landscapes. 54,800 people benefited from crop and animal inputs provisions as well as support to pest management.

Lastly, 5% of the supported population benefited through different channels for the renovation of agricultural infrastructure and assets vital for farming and animal survival (dip tanks and animal watering troughs).
