During May 2021, about 1,760,533 beneficiaries were supported with Emergency Food Assistance, and 537,200 Agricultural Livelihoods Support. Food gaps have increased in this ongoing peak of the lean season among several categories of people including new arrivals from inaccessible areas. Food prices have also continued to increase as reported by the bi-weekly monitoring of the prevailing cost of Food Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB) for the base markets in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC).
