In February 2024, 1 million people were assisted with emergency food assistance, out of which 967 thousand people were reached through cash modality and 75 thousand people with in-kind modality; About 23 thousand people were reached with agricultural livelihoods support out of whom 2 thousand people were reached through cash modality and 21 thousand people with in-kind modality in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (BAY) states.

About 4.8 million people in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states are projected to be food insecure in the lean season of 2024, according to the March 2024 Cadre Harmonise analysis. This also implies that the number of food-insecure people in the three states has consistently been above 4 million since 2020. However, the level of severity has improved over the past 4 years.
