Cadre Harmonisé (CH) in Nigeria

The CH was introduced in Nigeria in 2015 with Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara as pioneer states.

Currently, it has been implemented in 26 States (Abia, Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Edo, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Kogi, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Plateau, Taraba, Rivers, Sokoto, Yobe, Zamfara) and the FCT.

2 cycles of CH analysis have been conducted yearly since 2015 (March and October).

Why is CH Expansion Important?

Given the complexity of drivers of food insecurity and malnutrition, and other issues relating to food insecurity and nutrition in Nigeria, where there are more than 200 million people, it is necessary to spread the CH process across all states for a more comprehensive national representation of the results on the acute food and nutrition security situation.
