Food Security Sector, Agricultural Livelihood (SO2) Gap Analysis – April 2023

In April 2023, the sector partners assisted around 122 thousand people with agricultural livelihood interventions in the BAY states out of the 3.7M people in Need.

The rainy seasonal farming is currently ongoing. The Borno Yobe and Adamawa rainy season  task force, led by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and facilitated by FSS, created a platform for Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and other partners to prepared and shared  the seasonal climate prediction, and measures on crop activities for farmers in radio and leaflet. The message was transmitted through local languages (Kanuri, Hausa, Fulfule, and English). Partners are also advised to scale up agricultural livelihoods to boost food production, nutrition, income, and cash-for-work activities at both community and household levels to support asset rehabilitation and enhance livelihood recovery across the BAY states.
