In January the FSL cluster partners assisted over 2.6 million beneficiaries with unconditional food and cash. 99% of beneficiaries received in-kind food assistance while the remaining 1% received cash support. Further, a total of 740,000 beneficiaries were supported with agriculture or livelihoods assistance. A total of 238,000 individuals received or were registered for crop and livestock agriculture inputs by FSL Cluster partners to support the 2020 agricultural season. The FSL Cluster partners supported 380,000 beneficiaries with extension and advisory services to manage crop pests and livestock diseases. 122, 000 beneficiaries benefitted from rehabilitated or newly built community assets for crop and livestock production. .

The government and partners are conducting a Rapid Lean Season Assessment to update the findings of the 2019 ZimVAC which projected about 5.5 million people to be food insecure for the period January to March 2020. Furthermore, the Ministry of Agriculture and partners are currently conducting the First Round Crop and Livestock Assessment to estimate the area planted, crop conditions and potential yields.
