Scale of acute hunger in the Democratic Republic of the Congo “staggering”, FAO, WFP warn

Over 27 million Congolese – one in three people - now critically hungry

FAO and WFP sound the alarm on the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), as the number of people in high acute food insecurity is estimated at 27.3 million – or one in three people.  This makes the central African country home to the highest number of people in urgent need of food security assistance in the world.
