Food Security Sector SO2 Gap Analysis – September 2022

In September 2022, the sector partners have assisted 957,635 people with agricultural livelihoods interventions in the BAY states out of the 3.5M targeted people. The largest gap identified remains in Adamawa State (81%), followed by Yobe State (73%), and Borno State (68%).

The gap in agriculture livelihood support is about 3.0 million people. This implies there is a significant agricultural livelihoods gaps in BAY states.  In response to the flood impact FAO has planned short term Agriculture- Based Livelihood Assessment including the flood affected areas, scale up the dry season interventions to boost the production for those who lost crops due to the flood, rehabilitation of livestock water points, distribution of Fresh Food Vouchers (FFV) and Safe access to fuel and energy (SAFE)
