FOOD SECURITY SECTOR SO1 GAP ANALYSIS - JANUARY 2020

During January 2020, the sector partners assisted around 1.5 million individuals with food assistance (through in-kind distribution or cash/vouchers) in the three most affected north-east states of Nigeria. The largest gap identified remains in Adamawa State, followed by Yobe State and Borno State. Key food assistance partners continued working with various stakeholders to resolve the issue of sorghum and vegetable oil shortages in the monthly food rations while conducting community sensitization. Food assistance in informal settlements in urban areas as well as wet feeding support for new arrivals in field locations remain a gap due to limited partner capacities and funding support.
