Food Security Sector Dashboard - March 2022

During March 2022, 1,149,388 people were supported with emergency food assistance, and 265,455 with agricultural livelihoods support in BAY states. However, there are significant gaps in all states which are about 2.9 million people for food assistance and about 3.3 million people for agricultural livelihoods support.

Following the end of the scale-up of the lean season efforts of 2021, the reach of both the government and humanitarian partners has significantly reduced, from about 2.7 million down to approximately 1.2 million, largely due to funding limitations. This has left a gap of about 2.9 million people in need of food security assistance, the largest since the start of the CH analysis in late 2016. As it stands, pipelines will run out at the end of May 2022 for key partners delivering food security assistance through Cash Voucher Assistance (CVA) and in April for some delivering in-kind modalities, at which point the gap in people reached will increase to about 3.5 million.

The Sector continues to advocate for all actors to coordinate with the various sectors in the joint sectoral implementation of various activities whenever feasible.
