During the reporting period of July 2018, a total of 3,631,036 unique people were supported with food security interventions in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states, 2.1 million of which were supported with food assistance and 1.7 million were with agriculture and livelihood assistance. Among them, a total of 88,984 individuals received both types of assistance. In addition, 1,800 individuals were assisted with locally produced fuel-efficient stoves and received Safe Access to Fuel and Energy (SAFE) training in Borno State. Sustaining the ongoing food assistance through the most appropriate modalities and complementing it with increasing agriculture and livelihood activities is critical to prevent further deterioration of the food security level during the lean season.
