In August 2022, the Food Security Sector assisted 2,238,022 individuals with food assistance (SO1) and 785,232 individuals for agriculture & livelihoods (SO2), of whom 59% (1,323,257) and 10% (77,229) received support through Cash Voucher Assistance (CVA) for SO1 and SO2 respectively. Twenty-nine organizations, includes national, international NGOs and UN agencies, used different transfer delivery mechanisms, such as cash in hand, mobile money transfers, paper vouchers, and electronic vouchers.
In terms of the caseloads, Borno state hosted the highest caseload, approximately 75% of the CVA beneficiaries, compared to 23% and 2% in Yobe and Adamawa states, respectively.
Partners implementing emergency food assistance through CVA continue including the provision of additional 2,000 Naira to beneficiaries for safe access to fuel and energy as part of the food basket.
