Regional Pacific Food Security Cluster supports Vanuatu Food Security and Agriculture Cluster's Ambae volcano response

On 12 August 2018, the World Food Programme (WFP) Regional Pacific Food Security Cluster Coordinator deployed to Vanuatu for a two week period, supporting the Vanuatu Food Security and Agriculture Cluster’s Ambae volcano response operations on Maewo island and in response to a request from the Vanuatu Ministry of Agriculture.

During the deployment, the Coordinator conducted a rapid food needs assessment.  The assessment will support the Vanuatu Cluster’s intermediate and long-term planning, for activities on Maewo engaging both host communities and evacuees.

The assessment results will be available in early September 2018.
