Haiti | Humanitarian Needs Overview 2020

Haiti's shocks in recent years, combined with the country's structural weaknesses and the extremely unstable social, economic and political context, have had a lasting impact on the ability of the most vulnerable people to meet their vital needs. The political, economic, social and security context in 2019 was particularly critical, with an increase in humanitarian needs and a considerable impact on humanitarian actors' access to the most vulnerable populations. In February, June, September and October 2019, Haiti was almost paralyzed, resulting in a slowdown in governmental action across various sectors of the public service, as well as a halt to bilateral investments and support. This situation had a direct impact on resource mobilization for humanitarian aid and development.
