Food Security Sector SO1 Gap Analysis – January 2023

In January 2023, Sector partners assisted 1.7 million people with food assistance (through in-kind or CVA) in the three most affected North-East states of Nigeria, out of the 2.5 million targeted and 4.4 million in need of food assistance. The largest gap identified is in Adamawa State (89 percent), followed by Borno State (73 percent), and Adamawa State (35 percent) according to their respective people in need of assistance. This implies significant food assistance gaps in BAY states. The food assistance gap in the BAY states is 2.7 million people.
