Food Security Sector, Agricultural Livelihood (SO2) Gap Analysis – September 2023

In September 2023, the sector partners assisted 301 thousand people with Emergency agricultural livelihood interventions in the BAY states out of the 2.2 M [TD1] [AK2] targeted people. Like the food assistance gap, the most significant gap for emergency agriculture support was identified in Adamawa State (96 percent), Yobe State (94 percent), and Borno State (88 percent).

The Sector will continue to strongly advocate for emergency agriculture support/ activities to ensure the self-sufficiency of the affected households. Like food assistance, the sector has developed a guidance note for prioritization of dry Season Operation and targeting which will guide partners to use the scarce resource effectively and efficiently.
