Since 2020, the assistance going towards agricultural livelihoods has consistently reduced yearly, despite the increased demand for livelihood support by the affected population. Though an increase in the opportunities for agricultural livelihoods, including increased land access, over the past 4 years has been reported.

In June 2023, the sector partners assisted 142 thousand of people with agricultural livelihood interventions in the BAY states out of the 3.7M targeted people. The most significant gap identified remains in Adamawa State and Borno States (97 percent), followed Yobe State (96 percent). The gap in agriculture livelihood support is about 3.6 million people. This implies there is a significant agricultural livelihoods gaps in BAY states.
