Food Security Sector Agricultural Livelihoods Gap Analysis December 2023

Since 2020, the assistance going towards agricultural livelihoods has consistently reduced year on year, despite the increased opportunities and demand for livelihood support by the affected population. 

In December 2023, the sector partners assisted 433 thousand of people with agricultural livelihood interventions in the BAY states out of the 3.9M targeted people. The most significant gap identified remains in Adamawa State (94 percent) and Yobe States (94 percent), followed Borno State (81 percent). The gap in agriculture livelihood support is 3.5 million people based on the 2024 lean season projected people in need.
