- WFP Nigeria’s new Representative and Country Director, Ms. Myrta Kaulard took up duty on 14 August 2017.
- During the month of August WFP, both directly and through partnerships, has assisted 973,000 beneficiaries in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States (83 percent through in-kind food assistance and 17 percent through cash-based transfers).
- Congestion at Lagos port continues to hinder delivery of internationally procured food, including WFP specialized nutritious foods, which affected August assistance to children and pregnant and nursing women.
