Violence in north-east Nigeria, fueled by Boko Haram, has led to one of the most acute – and sorely neglected – humanitarian crises in the world. As areas become accessible, the scale of the human tragedy is becoming apparent. The World Food Programme is scaling up its assistance to reach more than 700,000 people in desperate need, including nutrition support for 150,000 children under the age of five who are at risk of malnutrition.
