We are pleased to share with you the mVAM market bulletin. In addition to face-to-face surveys, WFP has put in place a remote data collection system using mobile phone. On a monthly basis, we try to reach 490 traders trough phone calls in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States.

Summary of key message for December 2016:

Median prices of imported rice, local maize, millet, sorghum and vegetable oil have increased.
Price increases are generally similar for each State.
Access to markets has increased in all three States.
Availability of different food commodities has also increased in many markets although the improvements in Borno are more modest than Adamawa and Yobe.
