FOOD SECURITY SECTOR DASHBOARD - MARCH 2020

During March 2020, a total of 1.9 million people was supported with Food Security interventions in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, with about 1.4 million supported with Emergency Food Assistance, and 505,651 Agricultural Livelihoods Support. The security situation, especially along the main supply routes and remote countryside areas continues to pose major challenges to the implementation of ongoing deep field activities and has also led to limited or total inaccessibility of humanitarian assistance to some Local Government Areas in the North East, especially Borno State. Given the threats and risks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic to Food Security activities, The Food Security Sector set up 3 task forces set up to provide guidance to support timely decision making during the pandemic. These include the Food Assistance, Remote Price Monitoring, and Agricultural livelihoods taskforces.
