FOOD SECURITY SECTOR DASHBOARD - APRIL 2020

During April 2020, a total of 2.1 million people were supported with Food Security interventions in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, with about 1.5 million supported with Emergency Food Assistance, and 651,004 Agricultural Livelihoods Support. Restrictions in inter-state movements coupled with strict lockdown especially in Borno State made it more difficult for partners to access people in need, as well as vendors, especially in the urban and peri-urban areas. Partners also faced challenges in prepositioning food in the Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the deep field. Access to food was also made more difficult given price increases on food and agricultural inputs partially due to both lockdown measures and restrictions in the movements of traders. Where feasible, partners continued to provide double distribution during the month as one of the COVID-19 precautionary measures to reduce contact.
