Reports to: The sub-national coordinator will report to the sub-national cluster lead agencies (WFP and FAO) but be directly accountable to the national FSC Coordinator in Kinshasa.

Overall role of the area cluster coordinator: The area FSC (Food Security Cluster) Coordinator will ensure the good performance of the country FSC in North, South Kivu and Maniema areas, promoting and upholding the Humanitarian Principles and the Principles of Partnership. The area FSC coordinator will ensure clear links with the national FSC in order to facilitate reporting, information-sharing and collaboration with national and other sub-national level clusters (Nutrition and Protection cluster, Rapid Response Mechanism to Population Movements: RRMP….); to promote national programmatic cohesion and overall coordination to track trends; to identify common concerns across operational areas; and to develop more upstream advocacy and programming strategies. The sub-national FSC performance, in turn, will be monitored and evaluated according to the cluster and IASC standards.

Desirable:

  • Fluency in French and working level in English.
  • Experience of the country or region of deployment.
  • Formal training in Cluster co-ordination or previous Cluster experience.
