The 6th bi-annual Global Food Security Cluster Partners' Meeting, held 7-8 May in Rome, generated very fruitful discussions on a range of issues such as the importance of key cross-cutting issues including programme quality, cash and urban livelihoods.
The Meeting also addressed the issue of partnership and the need to engage with non-traditional humanitarian actors to better address gaps through information management. The discussions addressed key lessons learned and good practices from the recent system-wide Level 3 Emergencies in the Philippines, Central African Republic and South Sudan. Resilience also emerged as a central multi-sectoral issue, which if done properly can help to bridge the humanitarian and development divide.
All these issues discussed will be taken forward in the next gFSC two-year Strategic Plan, which will be conducted in a spirit of partnership.
