Food Security Sector SO2 Gap Analysis – April 2022

During April 2022, Food security sector partners have assisted around 299,122 people with agricultural livelihoods interventions in the three most affected North-East states.  The Food Security Sector through the Agricultural Livelihoods Working Group coordinated government and non-government partners who have confirmed plans to provide inputs for the 2022 main planting season. As of the end of May, about 212,4485 households across the BAY states have been mapped to have confirmed plans to deliver inputs including fertilizer, seeds, and tools among others. Despite a relative increase in access to land for agricultural production as reported by WFP, FAO and government reports, the trend of the total number of households targeted for rain season support has continued to reduce since 2018, largely due to a reduction in funding. The Sector strongly recommends efforts toward the scale-up of agricultural livelihoods activities in the three states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe
