Training for Food Security Cluster Coordinators

The global Food Security Cluster organized its Cluster Coordinator Training in English. The training was held from 11 to 14 June in Beirut, Lebanon. It included some 20 participants from various organisations, including the Cluster Lead Agencies WFP and FAO, NGOs and Standby Partners. The aim of the Cluster Coordinator trainings is to create a pool of qualified cluster coordinators that will be ready for deployment to countries with activated Food Security Cluster/Sectors. The training shall equip current and future Food Security Cluster Coordinators with the necessary tools to successfully lead a country cluster. Participants learned more about the roles and responsibilities of a cluster coordinator before, during and after a Level 3 emergency following the Humanitarian Programme Cycle (HPC).
